The show choirs at Davenport Central are an extension of the vocal music program.  Students in show choir spend time outside of the school day to prepare a competitive show for the competition season.  Rehearsals take place on Monday nights as well as some other extended sessions during choreography camps.  Any student who wants to be in show choir must also be enrolled in one of the core choir classes that take place during the school day.  Auditions for the show choirs take place in May for membership in either group the following year.  The show choirs participate in competitions throughout the Midwest throughout the winter months (Jan-Mar).  Students in show choir audition in both singing and dancing.

An upper-level mixed choir.

Varsity Chorus

A mid-level mixed choir. 

Women’s Chorus

An upper-level women’s choir.

Chamber Singers

An upper-level mixed choir.

Show Choir I

A competitive vocal show choir. Enrollment in another curricular chorus is required.

Show Choir II

A competitive vocal show choir. Enrollment in another curricular chorus is required.
